So I am always looking for something new in the fashion industry circuit and I came upon the Cracow School of Art and Design's Annual show, showcasing works in a competition amongst these Young fashion designers. Which I have to say, they have talent. Behind the scenes:
Cracow Fashion Awards, a Polish contest for young designers, has for the third time opened Cracow Fashion Week. Since 1996, Cracow Fashion Awards has annually promoted emerging talents in fashion design, who have recently graduated from Cracow School of Art and Fashion Design (). The level of this year’s entries has been of an exceptionally high standard. The collections ranged from stunningly designed avant-garde outfits and evening-wear to modern street-wear and classic feminine elegance.
The competition was sponsored by Hotel Hilton Garden Inn, the International Center of Language Education “The Point” and Poland’s biggest fashion company LPP S.A. - owner of Cropp, Reserved, House and Mohito brands. Cracow Fashion Awards 2011 has once again provided young designers with the opportunity to establish themselves within the Polish fashion scene.
Creativity, innovation and individualism have once again hit the catwalk. The event included attendance of fashion lovers, press and celebrities from Poland and Europe. The competition surpassed expectations, delivering fifty-one outstanding collections to an audience of over one thousand people. Each student presented at least eight designs before a jury of Polish and international fashion icons.
The judging panel, which included Jerzy Antkowiak, Aska Błażejowska, Christophe Gaillet, Ewa Minge and Monika Onoszko has awarded the first prize to 23 year-old Łukasz Stachowicz for his collection, “Lamperia”. Other prizes were given to Karolina Gronicka, Monika Haba, Monika Jaworska, Anna Kapica, Sabina Koryl, Ewelina Kosmal, Agnieszka Kowalska and Monika Szumińska-Nemeth. The winners received cash prizes, professional business advice, internships with leading designers and companies. They have also gained entry to exquisite fashion shows and coverage in respected fashion magazines. These prestigious awards will help them to start their careers in the fashion world.

I believe that fostering and nurturing these young designers that are making their foray into the fashion industry is key because we all know its not a joke and its tough and sometimes people do not make it but giving them advice, learning the trade through school or apprenticeship really helps. The fostering and advices given truly go a long way.
Anyways.....
I have included some photos which showcase these amazing young designers, who I believe have great talent and a keen eye for fashion. Unfortunately, I did not get an invite to go but I would have loved to be there to see it all in person. Seeing fashion, I know from experience, in person is a huger effect than photos. But these photos are high quality and I for one am proud of them.
Congrats again to 23 year-old Łukasz Stachowicz for his collection, “Lamperia”
And in a previous time,
In 2005 Łucja Wojtala was one of the finalist of the International Talent Support in Trieste, Italy and was awarded 3 months internship in John Galliano Atelier in Paris! Now who wouldn't want to go to Poland to go to Fashion School? --I WOULD! :D
(There is just so much to learn and traveling far and wide to get that inspiration is key)
The photos:
Monika Szuminska-Nemeth - Dual Line fot. Piotr KieratI love the cut and tailoring on this cape/poncho and the white pants, gorgeous combo.
Such great hues to combine. I love the chicness of this jumpsuit. So carefree and yet casual.
Anna Kapica - Prudencio Aguilar_fot. Piotr Kierat
I loved seeing her hold the peacock (I think) in her hand. Contrast against her sheer princess-like white dress, I love it. I love that dress with those open toe booties. Breathtaking.

Once again, her collection showed this relaxed and breathtaking feel to it. Soft materials.
Monika Haba - Stop being a sheep, express yourself fot. Piotr Kierat
This one, the hair and makeup was quite interesting. A lot of hairspray and hold must be used. I loved this two-tone colorblock dress. Done vertically, its very artsy!

The detail of the chain on this high shoulder look is wow! And the pants with the waist area having a lift! The structure of the outfit in total is amazing.

Once again, she proves that we can defy gravity! These pants are to die for.
Our winner: Łukasz Stachowicz - Lamperia_fot. Piotr Kierat
It felt like an olden age from the 30s, 40s. Maybe even during the earlier years of exploration. I also see elements of the English and European Countryside in this. Roots. This is in my style repertoire, classic looks and polished.

I loved the sweater with the hood.\ for the man. Keep warm, cozy, and stay fashionable

The collection in total pays homage to the past but looking forward to a more fashionable future. I see why he is the winner.
Sabina Koryl - Efedron fot. Piotr Kierat
This is exactly my love of style. Black with various sheer and leather pieces. Great!

Love the metallic look. Like a dark green with black. The way it is draped with the pants, feels like your out to have a good time and look cool.

The material looks amazing.
Joanna Jaśkowiec - Free action fot. Piotr Kierat
Taillored and the shoulder detail is amazing. Looks like inspiration from a bird and Balmain. Love the length and way it fits the model's body.
Agnieszka Kowalska - Szalapot fot. Piotr Kierat
Cozy!

I will admit, this one I was very confused...
Agnieszka Kowalska - Szalapot fot. Piotr Kierat
Favorite one of hers! The way the watercoloring was done. The various layers of material. Black, gray, and white all together on one. To die for. This piece I want.
Karolina Gronicka - Niente fot. Piotr Kierat
So fashion-forward!

The all-black with the occasional brown lurking out is genius!
Monika Jaworska - Modus vivendi fot. Piotr Kierat
I love flowing material and this caught my eye. You dont have to worry about how big you may look but how cool you will be!
Monika Jaworska - Modus vivendi fot. Piotr Kierat
Once again, I love this. Especially that top. You can pair it with skinny black jeans and it would look amazing!Amazing!
Ewelina Kosmal - Rój_fot. Piotr Kierat
Love the pants. This was a very artistic collection.
Ewelina Kosmal - Rój_fot. Piotr Kierat
Great dress!
Ewelina Kosmal - Rój_fot. Piotr Kierat
I loved the details put into this outfit. The stitching of the leather moto look on the pants. Also onto the top. The face covering. The modern ninja or the modern woman unleashes her power to run wild and be strong.
All in all, Im proud of all of these works and look forward to hearing and seeing about them in the future.
