NYFW Day 1~ On Fire Honor & Richard Chai

So yesterday was the major kick off of New York Fashion Week here in NYC! (Ha!) But another season at the beautiful Lincoln Center it just makes you feel right at home!

Yesterday showed some amazing designers that got to show first, my personal favorites Honor and Richard Chai Love showed yesterday and I loved what I saw!
Here are some pictures of my favorite looks of what will possibly be popular this fall 2012.

From Honor: Gorgeous mixture of patterning and textures with some lovely beautiful shades and hues! Plus layering for the cold! The show overall was amazing and makes the fall winter months where people have SADS and need a light box therapy, sure as hell can get over it with these duds! Casual, comfortable, and fashionable at the same time.

This next outfit I love, the textures like a jacquard look! I could wear them separately you know! Forget the normal private school uniform brand, I want Honor. Plus the way the belt cuts them so its not over kill (on some people's eyes) is a lovely minimalist touch. I could have so much fun with this.

From Richard Chai, striped and ombre hues were the theme! Amazing dashes of color. This jacket I want from Richard Chai! Can chic le stripe?
Also this is from Richard Chai as well! Those pants would be sick to wear with an all black outfit or a possible long trench coat in khaki with a blue shirt.
Costello Tagliapietra: Amazing balls of fun! Their show is always so well put together and done. The clothes always come off like a canvas of fun.

Jenni Kayne: Even though this has been done before, there is something about this Xena warrior princess and russian royalty style dressing that has me going bonkers!

This is a gorgeous dress by Tadashi Shoji, who had jewel tones all over and gowns that could make functionaries cry! This is a regal dress, I could tell. The neck line is amazing, and the heming is low. I could see only two people in this dress: Helen Mirren and Meryl Streep. I would not be surprised if I was them get to wear this to a function or carpet premiere. So elegant and regal.

And thats only the first day. Can you imagine what the rest will be?

NYFW Day 1 - Richard Chai Love

Unfortunately, I could not attend Richard Chai (or should I say try) because I had classes but it would have been nice to see it in person, I had really high hopes for this show.

I have some I was impressed with and some very iffy.
These are my favorites:

Doesnt it have a cross between the Glam Rock days of David Bowe along with an 80s kid layering look? I LOVE IT. The skirt and pants together, I love combos like that, it is just so revolutionary. Also revolutionary is the skirt matching the sneakers....Hmm.

This guy, reminds me of Bender from The Breakfast Club, doesnt he?
I love this all black look, it can go well for Spring, maybe a navy blue undershirt, instead of the white would be a nice pop of color? Then again, white is very crisp and simple.

Does this look familiar? Another one of Richard Chai's signature floral prints that are tasteful. Its tasteful but too much. Stripes then floral then solid top? Eh......ask me later. I loved it last february for this fall the way he added that crisp beige jacket with the floral. On pointe then.

I like this layering. A nice spring look. Solids but a nice color scheme. I know people will rave over this top. The sheerness all in the right places and then that orange/white maxi piece. When you look at it all together, it looks like a tennis outfit sort of, mind the extra white on the bottom?

I believe Richard Chai is a vision, he always takes risks and thats what I love about him, he tries. :)

He believes in his florals, some solids and pops of color in all the right places. Whether its a streak on the eyes, or colored lips or bottoms, he makes it work. It was quite a sporty collection yet cool chic at the same time. The guys looked very casual and comfortable even in colors, you just gotta werq.

Next is Fashion's Night Out, stay tuned~

Richard Chai Womens Fall 2011 RTW NYFW -- DAY 1

Richard Chai is always one of my favorite shows to see because its truly a lot of fun and he embodies the type of girl I am.

It was gorgeous black hues, ankle length dresses and skirts ( i felt the 90s length of things come back agani), fashionable in the cool weather, and I saw transitions of short jackets to full on long coats.

Some were business chic and others were cool girl casual. I definitely see his Chai theme from last two seasons. The layering and flowing material at its best.

The silhouettes come back to play with gorgeous deep grays, tailored works of pants and jackets.

Then towards the end a transition to more lighter cremed looks. It was a dark and bright ode to fall.

Overall, my favorite look was the khaki jumpsuit with the floral shear leg, which was a great surprise to the outfit. I immediately thought 70s.

Then the sheer top with sequin and stardust material. It was really pretty.

Another good look was the dress with a floral drape. Wow.

Richard Chai who I love. NYFW Day 1

Look 23 from Richard Chai today!

Again, I have to say I love Richard Chai Love. His collection for Fall 2010 was gorgeous and now this collection for Spring Summer 2011 is wonderful!

More Sheerness, baggy light pants, the laid back look again, neutral tones, and reminds me of Paris 1994 summer love affair. In a way its romantic but at the same time, comfortable and fashionable.

Richard Chai is once again going to be in my closet, even if I have to sell my vintage necklace.
