U.S. Fifth Fleet says won't allow disruption in Hormuz


The actual U. S. Fifth Fleet stated on Wednesday it won't allow any interruption of traffic within the Strait of Hormuz, after Iran threatened to prevent ships moving with the strategic oil path.
"The free circulation of goods and services with the Strait of Hormuz is essential to regional as well as global prosperity, " a spokesperson for that Bahrain-based fleet said inside a written response in order to queries from Reuters concerning the possibility of Iran attempting to close the river.
"Anyone who threatens in order to disrupt freedom of navigation within an international strait is clearly away from community of countries; any disruption won't be tolerated. "
Asked whether it had been taking specific measures in reaction to the threat in order to close the Strait, the fleet stated it "maintains the robust presence in the area to deter or even counter destabilizing actions, " without supplying further detail.
