11th Annual Tribeca Film Festival Announces 2012 Dates!

Well my film watchers and film artistes! The dates have arrived and this announcement just came out today!

2012 DATES, APRIL 18 – APRIL 29, 2012 AND CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS

TRIBECA FILM INSTITUTE ANNOUNCES CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS FOR 2012 TRIBECA ALL ACCESS, TFI DOCUMENTARY FUND, LATIN AMERICA MEDIA ARTS FUND AND SLOAN FILMMAKER FUND



New York, NY (August 8, 2011) – The Tribeca Film Festival announced today that the 11th annual Tribeca Film Festival will be held April 18 – April 29, 2012 in New York City. The Festival has announced a Call for Submissions for narrative and documentary features as well as for short film entries.



In addition, the Tribeca Film Institute, the year round nonprofit arts organization, has announced submissions will open today for Tribeca All Access (TAA), TFI Documentary Fund, Latin America Media Arts Fund and the TFI Sloan Filmmaker Fund.

(Make Sure you guys take note of the dates for submissions!)

Deadlines to submit U.S. and International films for the 2012 Tribeca Film Festival are as follows:



September 19, 2011 – SUBMISSIONS OPEN



October 28, 2011 – EARLY DEADLINE, FEATURES & SHORTS



December 2, 2011 – OFFICIAL DEADLINE, ALL FEATURES AND SHORTS



January 11, 2012 – LATE DEADLINE, AVAILABLE TO FEATURE LENGTH FILMS ONLY

August 8, 2011 – SUBMISSIONS OPEN



October 10, 2011 – DEADLINE

Classic Stanley Tucci

I remember watching him in movies prior to Devil Wears Prada but that movie just made me love him even more. Also when he was in Terminal as the head of Customs against Tom Hank's character.

Been thinking that if Stanley was in Wall Street Money never sleeps, i dont know why but his characters are smart, witty, sardonic, and yet filled with mystery.

I love Tucci! Maybe I should find a "Stanley Tucci" Fan club :)

The legendary Miyazaki ---- "iPad..wth.."

The Anime Legend Miyazaki who has helped to create & bring movies such as Princess Mononoke, My Neighbor Totoro & Spirited Away to ultimate stardom, has problems with the iPad. Well at least im not the only one.

But his reason is totally different. It is because he feels its bring a weird "public fondling" (on the basis of masturbation).

He said and I quote:

"For me, there is no feeling of admiration or no excitement whatsoever. "It's disgusting. On trains, the number of those people doing that strange masturbation-like gesture is multiplying."

Haha, no matter what Miyazaki says, we still love him.
